Puka Nacua, the wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, will not participate in Friday's practice because of a right knee injury he sustained during practice on Thursday. Despite this, head coach Sean McVay is optimistic about Nacua's potential to play in Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Nacua had to leave Thursday's practice early after his knee made minor contact with the ground. According to McVay, there is no structural damage, and Nacua will be marked as questionable. McVay expects Nacua to push through and be ready to play, considering his strong motivation to recover.
Earlier in the season, Nacua injured his right knee in August and again during the season opener, which led to a lengthy break while on injured reserve. Since being reactivated, he has made seven receptions for 106 yards across two games this season.
McVay highlighted the necessity of rest for Nacua but mentioned that the current injury is less serious than previous ones. Nacua has had an outstanding performance history, breaking rookie records for receptions and receiving yards last season.
