Both teams started the game energetically, exchanging successful plays throughout the first quarter. The Titans initially took the lead, only for the Chargers to level the score with a touchdown. As the quarter concluded, the Titans were ahead by a narrow margin of 14-10.
In the second quarter, the Chargers gained momentum by scoring two consecutive touchdowns without allowing the Titans to score more than a field goal. This resulted in the Chargers leading 24-17 at halftime.
Coming into the second half, the Titans regained their form by scoring two touchdowns, which placed them back in the lead. Meanwhile, the Chargers managed to add one touchdown to their tally. As the game progressed into the last quarter, the Titans were in front with a tight lead of 31-30.
The final quarter turned into a defensive struggle, with both teams unable to score. The Titans' defense made a key play by forcing a turnover late in the game, which provided the opportunity for their offense to maintain possession and run out the clock, securing their win.
The Titans' success was largely due to their strong running game, accumulating over 150 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Derrick Henry was instrumental, contributing more than 100 rushing yards. On the other side, Justin Herbert's effective passing for the Chargers kept the game close, as he threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns.
This victory moved the Titans to a 7-3 record for the season. Despite their loss, the Chargers are still in the playoff picture with a 5-5 standing.
