The Tampa Bay Lightning edged past the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 5-4 victory in an exciting match held on Tuesday night.
Anthony Cirelli of Tampa Bay scored the decisive goal with just over two minutes left in the third period, with assists from Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos.
Despite trailing 3-0, the Maple Leafs managed to level the score in the third period with goals by Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Calle Jarnkrok.
Tampa Bay took charge in the second period, adding goals from Erik Cernak and Nikita Kucherov to bring their lead to 3-0.
Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded 33 saves for the Lightning, while Ilya Samsonov made 29 saves for the Maple Leafs.
With this win, the Lightning have secured victory in two of their last three games, whereas the Maple Leafs have lost two of their last three. The teams are set to meet again on Thursday in Toronto.
